What does the Genetic engineering of plants, animals, and Humans do for our economy and environment?
Economy- Economy is the wealth and resources that are in a country or region. In simple terms the consumption of goods and services.
Environment- The natural world, in all or a particular geographical area, that is affected by human activity.

Animals
One good example of how genetically engineering would be a white-tailed deer. It impacts the economy in the way that hunters would pay to go hunting on private land that has deer that are engineered to have more score on their antlers than normal deer. Another way it impacts economy is because breeders would buy these enhanced deer to breed with other ones to produce more than release them for hunting as well. For environment it would produce higher quality deer that would produce more deer. The population of deer would be higher quality and would live better.
Cons

Cons
- Doing this would be it can kill deer to try to enhance them like this due to the size of the antlers, when they regrow it could grow into their brains and possibly kill them if they break off their antlers.
- All the deer would be the same potentially and hunting wouldn't be as sporty.
- Costs a lot of money to modify the deer like this
Pros
- Would be again a gain in the economy as hunters would want to hunt on this land.
- Deer would be more enhanced and could produce higher quality deer
- People would put a lot of money into buying an opportunity to breed the animals.
- The environment would be filled with tougher more able bodied deer.

Plants
Example of genetic plant engineering would be in crops. Some changes to crops that have been made to make the crop better would be herbicide tolerance. This tolerance makes the crop better protected against the weed kills they use on the crop (in the list below) but sometimes the genetics can transfer over to the weed they are trying to kill off (listed below)
Pros

Pros
- Plant genetics helps when it comes to making plants more genetically advanced and higher in nutritional value.
- When modified they are able to grow in more harsh areas that need the food, basically giving more food in areas that need it
- These crops and foods are more resistant to bugs and pests, giving them a better chance at growing and using less pesticides.
- By altering the genetics of the plants you can also make them a little more resistant to herbicides that take out weeds in a crop.
- Genetic engineering can also give medicine value in said plant.
Cons
- Plant genetics might be a problem for some people due to them being unhappy with the chemicals and how they were made.
- Can, in some circumstances, harm the environment.
- There can be a gene transfer to non-targeted plants, basically it could give herbicide tolerance to the weed they want to kill off
- Could make pesticides less effective

Humans
There are many more cons than pros for genetically engineering humans but some people may find that the pros outweigh the cons when it comes to this new science. There are many good things about Genetic Engineering but when it comes to the Economy and Environment I would say the cons outlast the pros. The main con I would focus on is the overpopulation of earth and the class wars between the wealthy and poor. The main pro would be putting money in the economy because Genetic Engineering Humans will not be cheap it will be quite expensive. Genetic Engineering can either change this world for good or bad the choice is up to you.

Pros:
- Genetic Engineering of Humans will be costly so it will be a good way of getting money out into the Economy.
- Genetically Engineering Humans will make them smarter, stronger, and even faster and much more. The environment for the world will start to change there will be a new breed of human that everyone wants but only few can have.
Cons:
- The people already alive on earth will have a chance to be able to live much longer than normal which would be not good for the Economy because it would make children coming into this world have a Low Employment Rate because all the jobs are already taken. Also it will be very bad for the Environment because the earth is already straining enough from overpopulation and stopping the natural course of death will make the world over populate when it cannot handle more people.
- Most likely only the wealthy will be able to afford Genetic Engineering this could cause class wars between the wealthy and the poor. This would create an unfriendly environment in this world.
- When Genetically Engineering a Child it could cause problems instead of helping the child be smarter, faster, etc…. This could be bad for the Economy because it would have to make the parents pay more money for the rest of the child’s life to help fix/correct the child's problem.
- It would take a lot of taxpayer’s money to try to figure out how to master genetically engineering in humans. Right now genetically engineering humans is like a gray zone because we do not know much on how it works we know how to do it but it does not work 100% of the time. It would take a lot of money and time to master genetic engineering.
